It’s been a while since I’ve gotten to do a Just For Me Ami pattern, but I sure am glad I chose this as my latest ami! If you haven’t heard about Just For Me Ami can read more about this ongoing project in my blog post here.
I recently had the immense please to test the pattern ‘Bobby Beaver’ for the incredibly talented crochet designer Cozy Little Mess. Let me tell you, I am in LOVE with this little guy! I’m sure you’ll agree that he’s by far the cutest beaver pattern that I have seen!
I haven’t done a lot of pattern testing lately (testing a pattern is a commitment and if I don’t feel I have the time to test it properly) but I absolutely HAD to test Bobby!
Bobby Beaver is a excellently written and easy to follow pattern. Cozy Little Mess not only writes clearly, but also provides a beautiful layout in her pdf version of the pattern which you can purchase for a very reasonable price on Ravelry. You can also view the pattern for free on her website.
My favourite parts of this pattern are definitely the fine details that have been included, such as the teeth, whites under the eyes, sweet cheeks and curves that don’t quit!! Bobby is also the perfect symbol of Canadiana (both Cozy Little Mess and I are Canadian and proud of it!). If you have a basic understanding of common crochet stitches and can do some simple sewing then you can make it too!
Below is my finished Bobby Beaver! I love him so much, and think he is the perfect size (he fits perfectly in the palm of my hand).
If you’re looking for a fun amigurumi pattern, especially a beaver, look no further than Bobby! While you’re at it, make sure to check out all the other amazing patterns that Cozy Little Mess has available on her website. They’re so adorable!!!
