A few months ago, I went to see the movie The Incredibles 2, and in typical Pixar fashion, before the movie played, they showed a new Pixar short called Bao.
Bao is the story of little dumpling who comes to life, much to the amusement of his adopted Chinese mother! If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend you do, it is very sweet.
A Bao of My Own
After seeing the short, I immediately thought ‘this would be the cutest thing to crochet’. Alas, life got busy, and I didn’t have a chance to design a Bao. A while back, while flipping through Pinterest, I discovered that Ami Amour had designed a fantastic pattern for Bao! You can check out her free pattern here!
The Pin sat for a long time, but after a frustrating evening, I finally sat down and decided to make it. The pattern is clear, easy to follow, and if you use the recommended hook size, the leaf piece will fit in a 6 inch steamer basket! The eyes, mouth and cheeks are made with felt, so you will want to have some fabric glue on hand!
If you’re looking for a fun, quick and FREE pattern to do, this is a great place to start! It is also so, so cute!
