Oink Oink! Sweet Pea the piglet is a very loyal friend and loves to snuggle, just like a real pig! Pigs often get a bad rap for being smelly and messy, but that’s utter hogwash! Pigs only roll around in the mud to help them cool off since they cannot sweat. Sweet Pea is also very proud of the fact that pigs are incredibly intelligent animals, so maybe don’t tell her that her head is full of fluff!

Materials
Hook: 3.5 mm
Yarn: Worsted Weight: Approx. 100 yards- 2 shades of pink (I used Impeccable by Loops and Threads)
12 mm Safety Eyes, buttons or Embroidered Eyes
Polyfill
Needle
Optional: Stitch Markers and pins, ribbon for a bow, embroidery thread for eyelashes
Other Notes:
Magic Ring alternative- if you do not feel comfortable doing a magic ring, you can also chain 2 and work the indicated number of stitches into the first chain.
Continuous Rounds– This pattern is worked in continuous rounds unless otherwise indicated.
Invisible Decrease vs SC2TOG– This pattern includes both invisible decreases and SC2TOG. You can if you choose, replace the invisible decreases with SC2TOG, but when it lists SC2TOG, make sure to do this stitch.
Colour Change– When changing from one colour to another, in your final SC stitch after you have 2 loops on your hook, pull through with your new colour. In the next stitch of the next row, substitute a SL ST for the first SC as it creates a more seamless colour change that is not as obvious.

Snout:
In dark pink colour yarn:
R1: 6 SC into MR (6 st)
R2: INC SC around (12 st)
R3: (3 SC, INC SC, SC, INC SC) x2 (16 st)
SL ST to first stitch of previous round and FO, leaving a long tail of yarn.
With light pink colour yarn, sew two lines on either side of the first round.
Head:
In light pink colour yarn:
R1: 6 SC into MR (6 st)
R2: INC SC around (12 st)
R3: (SC, INC SC) x6 (18 st)
R4: (2 SC, INC SC) x6 (24 st)
R5: (3 SC, INC SC) x6 (30 st)
R6: (4 SC, INC SC) x6 (36 st)
R7: (5 SC, INC SC) x6 (42 st)
R8-R14: SC around (42 st)
R15: (5 SC, INV DEC) x6 (36 st)
R16: (4 SC, INV DEC) x6 (30 st)
R17: (3 SC, INV DEC) x6 (24 st)
R18: (2 SC, INV DEC) x6 (18 st)
FO, weaving in the ends, and lightly stuff the head of your pig. This will help ensure when you place the eyes and snout, that they fit properly.
Take your safety eyes and place them between rows 13 and 14, approximately 9 stitches apart. Before putting the backings on, check that the snout fits between the eyes and adjust accordingly. Put the backings on your safety eyes. Add any embellishments to the face (such as eyelashes), then continue to stuff the head.
Next, pin the snout between the two eyes. Sew up and down between the outer most stitches of the snout, all the way around, weaving in the ends. If the head needs any additional stuffing, finish now.
Ears:
This section works in rows. When starting a new row, do not CH 1.
Repeat a total of FOUR times, twice with light pink colour yarn, twice with dark pink colour yarn:
R1: CH 9, SC in second st from hook and each st across (8 st)
R2: Turn. SC2TOG, 4 SC, SC2TOG (6 st)
R3: Turn. SC2TOG, 2 SC, SC2TOG (4 st)
R4: Turn. 2 SC2TOG (2 st)
R5: Turn. SC2TOG (1 st)
FO, and weave in the ends.
Lay one dark pink triangle on top of one light pink triangle, and attach a new piece of light pink yarn at a bottom corner through both triangles. SC through both triangles, along all three sides evenly, putting 2-3 SC in each corner. Attach to your first SC with a SL ST and FO, leaving a long tail for sewing. Repeat with the second ear.
Pin your ears 2-3 rows down from the top of the head, or in a position you like and sew in place. Weave in the ends.
Body:
In light pink colour yarn:
R1: 6 SC into MR (6 st)
R2: INC SC around (12 st)
R3: (SC, INC SC) x6 (18 st)
R4: (2 SC, INC SC) x6 (24 st)
R5: (3 SC, INC SC) x6 (30 st)
R6: (4 SC, INC SC) x6 (36 st)
R7-12: SC around (36 st)
R13: (4 SC, INV DEC) x6 (30 st)
R14: SC around (30 st)
R15: (3 SC, INV DEC) x6 (24 st)
R16: SC around (24 st)
R17: (2 SC, INV DEC) x6 (18 st)
R18: SC around (18 st)
FO, leaving a long tail for sewing. Stuff body firmly. Line up the stitches of the top of the body with the bottom of the head and sew together. Weave in the ends.
Arms: (make 2)
In dark pink colour yarn:
R1: 6 SC into MR (6 st)
R2: (SC, INC SC) x3 (9 st)
R3: SC around (9 st)
Switch to light pink colour yarn:
R4-6: SC around (9 st)
Stuff the tip of the arm at this point
R7: 2 SC, INV DEC, 3 SC, INV DEC (7 st)
R8-9: SC around (7 st)
To close, pinch the sides closed and 3 SC across through top of stitches of both sides. FO, leaving a length of yarn. Pin to the sides of body about 3 rows down from where the head and body join and sew in place. Weave in the ends.
Legs: (make 2)
In dark pink colour yarn:
R1: 6 SC into MR (6 st)
R2: INC SC (12 st)
R3: (3 SC, INC SC) x 3 (15 st)
R4-6: SC around (15 st)
R7: (SC, INV DEC) x5 (10 st)
Switch to light pink
R8-13: SC around (10 st)
Stuff bottom half of leg. To close, pinch the sides closed and 5 SC across through top of stitches of both sides. FO, leaving a length of yarn. Pin each leg to the bottom of the body on either side of the first row and sew in place.
Curly Tail:
To make a longer or shorter tail, add to or take away from the number of stitches in your starting chain. When SC into your chain, use a tight tension to help make the tail curl.
In light pink colour yarn:
R1: CH 15, SC in second stitch from the hook and across the remaining stitches (14 st)
FO and pin to the lower back of the body of the pig. Sew in place and weave in the ends.
